November 2011– Voted “Illinois Community Educator of the Year” by the State Activity Directors Association for moving Stevenson to an effective Sustainable Campus and becoming LEED-EB Gold Certified.
November 2011– Organized Faculty Lunch and Learn – Moving forward with our “Green Mission” and what new professional development opportunities exist at Stevenson for Faculty members.
October 2011– Organized a “Do One Thing” program. Over 1,680 students took a pledge to reduce their CO2 output. Stevenson has placed first in this program for the entire country.
October 2011– United States Green Build Council Meeting – Presented the “LEED Gold Process and Curricular Ties” that can be done with existing classes.
September 2011– Launched the new “Building Dashboard Kiosk” (also web-based) that shows real time energy consumption of the building and explains the “Green Features” of the school and Campus to the public.
June 2011– Helped plan and conduct a Professional Development day for Teachers at Northwestern focusing on Climate Change and writing Classroom Activities.

The focus was on “Climate Change” how teachers and their schools are the front lines for reaching the public concerning the threats of global warming. Discussed the importance of writing grants for wind, solar thermal, and photovoltaic renewable energy systems.
